Timing set for Opel Astra K
Timing belt timing tool, for 1.2L LIH, Opel F12SHL, F12SHT, F12SHR engines ”
Special tool set for professional timing adjustment for the LIH engine generation from Opel, installed from 2019, with 1.2 liter F12SHL, F12SHT, F12SHR engines.
The timing tool is indispensable for replacing timing belts, working on camshafts, cylinder heads or for engine repairs.
It contains all the special tools needed, as well as for the professional installation of the lower timing belt cover with crankshaft oil seal.
The camshafts have a hexagon for turning, this is only possible with the special tool no. 122920 (such as EN-52455) to create space save.
NOTES:
For the special tool:
Tighten the clamping screws for clamping the camshaft adapters in the special tool to 20 Nm.
We recommend removing the TDC locking pin of the flywheel mounting tool from the flywheel when loosening and tightening the crankshaft; the locking tooth alone must accommodate the required torques.
Timing adjustment:
The spring-loaded flywheel mounting bolt secures the crankshaft in the timing position at 118.14 degrees behind the TDC point, the crankshaft must NOT be able to be turned with the tool in place.
At the same time, the valves of the 3rd cylinder must be closed and the camshaft mating surfaces must be vertical.
The camshaft mounting tool must be marked “I” and point upwards.
Install the camshaft sprockets correctly, the front has 2 bolts of different thickness in the middle.
Crankshaft oil seal:
The special tool for the crankshaft oil seal on the front (such as EN-52432) is included in the kit.
No special tool (such as EN-52434) is required for the oil seal on the gearbox side when using spare parts with pre-assembled mounting sleeve.
Required tightening torques, if applicable:
(Reference: Opel Astra K 1.2 T, year of manufacture 2021 F12SHT engine)
Tension roller and timing belt guide pulley: 36 Nm
Camshaft sprockets: 50 Nm + 28 degrees
Crankshaft center bolt: 150 Nm + 150 degrees
Starter motor: 58 Nm
Camshaft adjuster solenoid valves: 8.5 Nm
Lower timing cover: first 4 Nm, then 8.5 Nm
Valve cover: first 4 Nm, then 8.5 Nm
