Timing adjustment tool, timing chain, for Fiat Jeep 1.0 and 1.3 MultiAir T-Gdi engines
The 1.0 and 1.3 T-Gdi engine generation from 2018, installed in Fiat and Jeep vehicles, require special tools for engine repair and timing adjustment.
The camshaft is locked via the drive of the vacuum pump. The crankshaft is adjusted via a flywheel locking pin.
The coolant pump on these engines is driven by a sprocket from the timing chain.
Procedure:
The timing is set to TDC 1st cylinder.
The vacuum pump and belt drive vibration damper must be removed.
The central screw on the camshaft phase unit does NOT need to be loosened for timing chain replacement.
NOTE:
The crankshaft center screw has left-hand threads!
The center bolt is loosened with the flywheel mounting and vibration damper holder inside.
According to the manufacturer, the upper right engine mounting bolt must be loosened replaced.
